Networking Comittee
SWE-CI is looking for volunteers to join the Networking Committee!
The goal of the Networking Committee is to provide an avenue to connect SWE-CI members, plan events that allow SWE-CI section members to grow professionally and socially. The networking Committee is responsible for planning networking/social events during the year, preparing for (or ensuring preparation of) progress reports for the monthly SWE-CI newsletter / publicity for events as needed, putting together monthly lunches, and attending biweekly board meetings.
You should join this committee if you have a passion for bringing people together over food and fun!

Cookie & Wine Exchange - December 18th 2018
On Tuesday, December 18th the Society of Women Engineers - Central Indiana (SWE-CI) Section membership committee and professional development committee jointly hosted Adrienne Cox, a professional in Contract Manufacturing and local wine expert, for an informative and interactive experience on wine and wine pairings with desserts. Participants enjoyed learning about and tasting red, white, and sparkling wine varieties followed by an exchange of festive cookies to eat and take home.

Scarlet Lane Brewery Tour - November 14th 2018
On November 14th, SWE-CI partnered with Women & Hi Tech for a networking event hosted at Scarlet Lane Brewery. The head brewer, Eilise Lane, gave a tour of the brewery and described both the fermentation/brewing process and her background, including what it’s like to be a woman in such a male-dominated profession. People stayed afterwards for food and games!

Penn & Beech Candle Making - October 11, 2018
Penn and Beech Candle Co. is owned by two women from Indianapolis who started with pouring candles in their basement and selling them online. In 2018, they successfully launched their first brick and mortar location. A dozen SWE members gathered to craft their own signature scent and pour a candle to take home with them.
